​Dr. Sanjita Majumder is a writer, lecturer and filmmaker whose work explores the intersections of labour, visual culture, and postcolonialism. Combining essay filmmaking and critical theory, her practice-based research investigates how moving-images shape histories of labour, gender and colonialism.

 

​She is an Associate Lecturer in Photography at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, where she teaches film studies, race, media technologies. She has previously taught at Goldsmiths and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

 

She holds a PhD in Visual Cultures from Goldsmiths College. ​Her critical writing on cinema, literary fiction, and visual cultures has been published in Mekong Review, Asymptote, Scroll.in, The Federal, and ASAP/Art South Asia. Her scholarly research has appeared in the Review of International Political Economy and in edited volumes published by Urbanomic and Counterfield. Her moving-image works have been featured in exhibitions at KELDER and Freud Museum London.
