Dr. Sanjita Majumder is a writer, lecturer and filmmaker with a PhD in Visual Cultures from Goldsmiths, University of London, specialising in labour, gender, postcolonial theory and feminist Marxism.

She is currently Associate Lecturer in Media Studies and Photography at the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, where her teaching encompasses film studies, media technologies and postcolonial critique. She has previously taught at Goldsmiths and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.

Her critical writing on cinema, literary fiction and visual cultures has been published in The Wire, The Federal, Scroll.in, ASAP/Art South Asia and the Asia Review of Books. Her peer-reviewed research appears in the Review of International Political Economy and edited volumes published by Urbanomic and Counterfield. Her practice-based research merges essay filmmaking with critical theory, working towards decolonising the archive.
